The Roaring Fork is a freeflowing stream from its headwaters, flowing from just below Independence Pass down to Glenwood Springs. The river offers up just about any fishing condition you could imagine, from high mountain brookie waters to deep pools and pocket water. The entire river fishes well and is known for its hard fighting rainbows. Brown trout are also in abundance, with rumors of “Old Growler”, a 32 inch German Brown, known to break a few lines in the Carbondale area. The Roaring Fork is a beautiful river with much to offer any angler.
