Oak Creek is one of the smaller Lake Michigan tributaries, but for some reason it gets a nice run of fish in both the Fall and Spring. At first glance you wouldn’t think there would be any fish in this little creek, but usually the larger pools and log jams hold a fish or two. The fall brings in four different species of fish: chinook, coho, steelhead, and big lake-run browns. The kings are usually in the 15-25 pound range with the steelhead, coho and browns averaging 5-10 pounds. An occasional 10-15 pound monster steelhead finds it way into the creek, as well as browns up to 20 pounds.
