The Oak was packed full of huge steelhead, I could hardly believe how many fish there were. It looked like the pictures you see of Alaska with all of the Salmon just lined up. These fish were easily spooked, but I did manage to hook four fish. These fish were fresh and put up an unbelievable fight. I had one that was almost back to Lake Michigan before I knew what had happened. I managed to bring one up next to the bank, but like the others it managed to come off. It was fun just to watch these fish make their way up the river to spawn. The fish were all in the 28-34 inch range. Justin also hooked fish up river, but was unable to bring any of them in. Small egg patterns worked the best, but I also hooked one on a prince nymph. I am continually amazing at how many big fish this little creek holds.
