We stopped by Oak Creek on our way back to the cities and found the river to be low. As we worked our way down stream I spotted a couple of chinooks splashing in a riffle. I tried to work the males, but ended up hooking the female and chasing off all of the males. She didn't put up much of a fight, as there wasn't much room to go. I continued down stream and spotted a couple of more fish holding under a log. Again the male spooked up river and I hooked into the female. This one had a little more fight in her, as it took off down stream. I took off after her and soon had her in the net. It was another nice hen close to 32 inches. We decided to call it a day as the water was too low to fish and the fish that were in didn't seem real fresh. The flows were below 10 cfs and the best flies were dark colored wooly buggers.
