The "Rush" is probably the most popular
trout stream in western Wisconsin. It has a well-known trico
hatch and numerous other hatches that bring these eager fish
to the surface. This is a brown trout river and holds some of
the largest fish in Wisconsin. Fish in the 20 inch range aren't
uncommon
and a couple of fish in the 24-25 inch range are caught ever
year. The majority of the fish are 12-14 inches and tend to congregate
in the deeper pools. If you catch one fish in a pool, chances
are
that a couple more casts in the same pool will produce more
fish. The larger fish become more active in the fall and it's
not uncommon to spot them in the shallower water early and late
in the day. |
