We caught a lot of fish on the Taylor, but there weren't a lot of big rainbows down in the Catch and Release section. We did drive up on top of the dam and is pretty amazing to see all the big rainbows down below. I did find one nice rainbow up right below the no-fishing zone, but couldn't get it to take a fly. After not catching much in the upper faster water we decided to try down in the lower part of the Catch and Release section. This area doesn't receive quite as much pressure as above and I had heard of people hooking some big bows down there. Rob landed a nice 20 inch brown right away and almost had a huge bow, but pulled the fly from its mouth. I landed a couple of browns with a parachute BWO and then tried fishing the rapids and pocket water above Rob. I caught a couple more small rainbows on a pheasant tail and San Juan worm. It was fun to catch fish in a new spot and nice to find that big brown so far down river.
