The Norfork is a short 4 mile tailwater that is part of the White River chain in northern Arkansas. The Norfork had produced more BIG browns then any other river in the world. Many fish weighing in the upper 30 pound range have been caught and a couple fish estimated at close to 50 pounds have been spotted. It is hard to believe that such a short river could produce so many huge fish, but the cooler water brings a lot of big browns up from the White. The river is also home to some big rainbows, cutthroats, and brookies. An average day of fishing on this river should include a couple of fish in the 20+ inch range. Trout Run Creek (fishable for ages 16 and under) on the upper river might be the best quarter mile of stream in the world. The stream produces many ten pound plus fish and a recent rainbow was caught that may have been large enough to set a new state record.
