We found a nice stretch of river in the town of Eagle open and I quickly settled in on the first deep hole I found. It was between a couple of old bridge pilings and looked like a good place to start. It took a while, but I finally found a pocket of fish and landed a couple of 10-12 inch rainbows. I continued working downstream and came to a deep pool with a small waterfall running into it. I had landed a small brown, when something larger took my indicator under. The fished rolled near the surface and I could see it was a nice brown. After a short fight I brought it up into the shallow water and took a quick picture. It was a good fish for this section of river, as brown right around 15 inches. We each caught a couple more smaller fish before deciding to head back to Denver. I caught all of my fish on pheasant tails, hares ears, and San Juan worms.
