We stopped at the Crystal near Redston,e hoping to land some of the nice rainbows we had heard about. The river was as clear as I could remember and the fish easy to spot, but were easily spooked. Only the larger pools seemed to hold fish and fishing upstream was key. We each landed a couple of small rainbows before Rob hooked a nice fish. He finally got it in, but was wondering what the heck he had caught. White fish! Although not the big rainbow he was hoping for, it still put up a good fight. The fish weren’t picky as far as flies go, although we had better luck fishing red and green Copper Johns.
