There were a couple of anglers fishing near the Nike bridge when we arrived, but the river was pretty much void of fisherman. We searched the upper stretches of the river and found out why. There really weren't many fish around and there definitely weren't any big fish down from the dam. There was a couple of small cutthroats holding in the "cutthroat" pool a couple hundred yards down from the dam, but we decided to keep moving downriver to see if we could find some rainbows. We each caught small rainbows right below the I-70 bridge before continuing to work our way downstream. There were maybe 8-10 fish holding under the Nike bridge, but we decided to head off to another river rather then crowd around the fish with the other fisherman. We did stop to check out the shop pool behind Cutthroat Anglers, but it also wasn't holding any fish. The water was really low, so the fish must have all moved up to the restricted area below the dam.
