The Hawg Trough was created to provide flyfishing reports, tactics, and stories on fishing conditions in the streams, rivers, and lakes across the US. These stories are meant to help any angler traveling to a new fishing destination or anglers wanting to enjoy our experiences and stories, comparing them to some of their own. Our tactics are by no means the only way to fish, but are tactics that have produced nice fish for us repeatedly in the past.

We are constantly in search of new rivers to fish across the US, but also enjoying heading back to some of our favorites. Whether it be on our home rivers in Minnesota or Colorado, the tributaries to Lake Michigan, or searching for 20 pound browns in Arkansas, you never know where we may show up next.

Flyfishing has always been an escape, a way to get away from our busy lives, to get out and enjoy God's creation. We most enjoy watching the excitement of a new angler catching their first fish on a flyrod or catching their first big fish. Their joy and excitement display the happiness that ever angler should experience out on the water. Hope you all are catching lots of fish and have a continuous bend in your rod.

Tight Lines, The Hawg Trough
