We arrived
at the tailwater just before a huge storm, but decided to give
it a try until it started pooring. The top section below the
dam was slow, deep water and didn't seem to hold any fish. We
headed downstream and crossed a bridge over to water looked like
it might hold some trout. This section of river had better runs
and the cayon wall on the opposite side looked like good holding
water
for
fish. I soon hooked into a nice bow, but lost it after a couple
of jumps. Jerry hooked another nice fish and got it in after
a short fight. It was a fat 16 inch rainbow that looked like
it had been recently stocked, as it was pretty beat up. I landed
two more bows in the 16-18 inch range and missed another. We
didn't go downstream too much further, as we came to private
land. We decided not to risk fishing any further, but it definitely
looked like good holding water. The water was a brown muddy color
and we caught all the fish on pheasant tails and red midges.
