There was hardly anyone out when we arrived at Kletzch Park, but there was a fair amount of water flowing. I started on the backside of the island and worked my way along the far bank. I soon spotted pair of cohos right up against the bank. I tried running flies past them, but they just weren't interested. I continued moving downstream and right at the bottom of the island came across a pod of cohos. These fish also weren't interested in flies, as they were all spawned out. I continued to work my way downstream, as Justin started hooking fish at the top of the island. There definitely were more fish up at the falls, as the further downstream I went the less fish I found. I came back up and found that Justin had caught another 4 cohos and had even gotten one chinook out of the deep pool by the falls. He also lost another chinook that was 40 plus inches. I was a little skeptical of this, but later on I did see a fish that was a big as one of my legs, no doubt the fish he had lost. He had the best success fishing orange patterns and swinging them into the fish in shallow water.
