The Milwaukee had some crazy flows when we arrived, with water up a couple of feet during the week. It was tough wading and probably more effective to fish with a spey rod, but we decided to give it a try anyway. We found a nice stretch up-river of Estabrook park and were surprised that we didn’t tie into any fish. We made our way downstream into the park and still no fish. We decided to head out and check out Kleizch Park. We spent a short time dredging the waters below the falls, but were pretty convinced that this area didn’t hold any fish. The Milwaukee was by far the prettiest river we fished and we will definitely be back to try again in the fall.
