We arrived at Estabrook Falls and were suprised to only find one other fisherman, usually not a good sign. A couple of other fishermen walked up and said that Kletzch Park had been on the news the previous night and fish were trying to jump the falls. We decided to take their advise to head upriver to Kletzch.

The river was packed with people, from the falls all the way down to the second bridge. Suprisingly fishing was still slow. We waded over to the island and began working the far side of the bank. There were redds everywhere, but with the sun out the fish were all holding up in the holes by the falls. After working down to the bottom of the island without seeing any fish we decided to head up to the falls to see if we could sqeeze in. A couple of guys were leaving, so we had the lower part of a hole to ourselves. I began working the area behind the big boulder, but after watchig the hole for a while I could tell there weren't any fish in it. We talked to one fisherman who had landed 8-10 fish earlier and he said the sun and people had turned them off. We weren't able to get into the deeper hole that was holding the fish, so we decided to work our way further downriver. We went down past the railroad bridge without sighting a fish. After fishing for a couple of hours and not seeing anyone catch a fish we decided to call it a day. The guy who was hooking fish was using a small chartreuse egg pattern.
